About Backgammon
For all backgammon players, here are strategies to build your
backgammon skills.
How to build a blockade
Both players attempt to get their checkers around the backgammon
board and back to their home area. Move your checkers to specific
points on the board so you will keep your opponent's checkers
blocked from moving around the board.
Advanced Backgammon Strategy
Make an effort to copy your opponents good die numbers and
avoid repeating your own numbers. When your opponent is leading,
you should be hesitant to give up an anchor, waiting for a shot
could be your best tactic.Preferably hit a checker on your opponent's
part of the board side rather than making a point on your own
side.To start the game each player must rolls one dice, and
the player that rolled the higher number plays first.
The game begins and is played with 2 dice rolled.
In Backgammon, playing all the numbers is required. Let's
review some combination of numbers and standard moves. There
are combinations that must be played in only one method at the
start of the game. If the moves are allowable and the path is
clear. What is the best way to play Double4s, Double3s and Double4s?
You have a few options and you must choose the best move. Remember,
your strategy is to block the main routes of your opponent and
keep them immobilized.
To play Double4s, the recommended way to go is to bring two
checkers from row 12 to row 20 and build a block. Or you can
move two checkers from row 1 to row 5 plus 2 checkers from row
12 to row 16.To play Double3s your best bet is to play this
at the beginning of the backgammon game. Take two checkers from
row 18 to row 21 to block and 2 checkers from row 11 to row
14 to escape from your opponent's home board area.
To play Double2s move two checkers back two rows from row
17 to row 19, and two checkers from row 10 to row 12. Then move
the first 2 checkers to row 21 and leave the other two checkers
to create a simpler and shorter escape path.
